Fake ATO Scams

There has been an increase in Australia with fake calls, msgs and emails from an identity that claims to be the ATO. What they are trying to achieve is for you to send Bitcoin to their wallet that will not be returned to you. No government agency at this stage will ever ask for you to send them bitcoin or any cryptocurrency. This must be ignored and the ATO be contacted and the person or persons involved to be reported to the authorities.

Please remember the following tips when trading bitcoin on and off the Auscoin Bitcoin ATM.

Do not send anyone you do not know in person any bitcoin or any cryptocurrency.

Contact the police if you are receiving calls from people claiming to be a government agency and asking for money.

Do not reply to emails that appear to be fraudulent. If they claim to be a government agency they would have .gov in their email address.
